Technology: The application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes in industry.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF TECHNOLOGY
There are three major types of technology and these are: instructional technologies, assisted technologies and administrative technologies. Instructional technologies can be further subdivided into televisions, tape and videocassette recorders as well as computer and computer peripherals.

• New alloys that are stronger and lighter (Dur-aluminum is a less recent one) • Carbon-fiber technology • Plastics: acrylic, nylon, Teflon, vinyl . . . • Ceramics Industrial Technology: • assembly lines (that's an old one) • "just in time" manufacturing: where all the parts for an auto for example arrive at the final assembly place when they are needed and therefore eliminating the need for the storage of parts. |
